“Adopt with love”
- Maxi Zoo and animal shelters join forces to help animals find homes
In Poland, thousands of dogs and cats are still waiting for their chance – a responsible decision to adopt and a safe home. It is with such choices in mind that Maxi Zoo is running the nationwide “Adopt with Love” campaign, which combines support for new owners with regular assistance for animal shelters and charities.
The “Adopt with Love” campaign is more than just a one-off initiative. Maxi Zoo has been supporting animals in need for years, and the chain’s stores work daily with local animal welfare organisations. Every store in the chain is involved in activities to help animals in its local area, ranging from collecting donations and providing material support to promoting adoption and educating customers. This ensures that help goes exactly where it is most needed.
Furthermore, the latest edition of the “Adopt with Love” campaign launched on 5 March and will run until the end of the year. Anyone who decides to adopt an animal from a shelter or an organisation working with Maxi Zoo will receive a voucher for a 15% discount on a starter kit when spending a minimum of 100 zł in the chain’s high-street stores. This is practical support to get started, but also a symbolic gesture showing that the decision to adopt is not left without support.
– We realise that adoption is a big responsibility, but also a deeply emotional experience. We want to make that first step easier for new owners, whilst promoting adoption as a conscious and well-considered decision. “We believe that it is not only people who can change the fate of animals, but that animals can also change people’s lives for the better,” says Wojciech Kamiński, Managing Director of Maxi Zoo Polska. – Every day we see how a strong community of animal lovers is forming around our shops. These are people who help not only through adoption, but also by supporting shelters with their donations and commitment. – he adds. The example of the shelter in Milanówek, a small, private facility that has been caring for homeless animals for nearly 40 years, illustrates how this collaboration works in practice. Today, there are around 80 dogs and 10 cats there, and one of the pillars of its operation is precisely this local collaboration with Maxi Zoo stores.
– Our partnership is based on relationships with specific Maxi Zoo stores. We currently work with six branches in the Mazovia region. What does this mean for us? A great deal! First and foremost, a steady supply of in-kind donations: good-quality food and supplements. Customers buy them in the shops and leave them in special bins, and we collect them as soon as they’re full,” says Anna Kaźmierczak, a volunteer at the shelter in Milanówek.
It is in places like this that the idea of ‘adopt with love’ takes on its most tangible form. A film, which is part of the “Adopt with Love” campaign, tells the story of daily life at the shelter and the support the animals need. On its YouTube channel, Maxi Zoo showcases the work of partner shelters and introduces the animals waiting for a new home.
Through this initiative, Maxi Zoo reminds us that adoption is not just a decision to take an animal into your home, but also a chance to truly change its fate, and that help does not end with the act of adoption itself; it is equally important to support the organisations that care for the animals every day.
“Adopt with Love” brings two worlds together: people ready to open their homes and those who care for animals in need on a daily basis. It reminds us that even the smallest gesture – adoption, buying food or donating gifts – can make a huge difference.
